And then there were none.
Jeep is sending off its V8-powered models with the limited availability Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition.
The off-road brand is joining Dodge and Ram in discontinuing V8s as they replace them with the Hurricane turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine, electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
Chrysler has also stopped building V8-powered cars, but is currently slated to go all-electric in the coming years.
HERE’S HOW TO GET A 603 HP JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON 392
Along with its commemorative badging, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition gets a few upgrades from the standard Wrangler Rubicon 392, including an additional half-inch lift to give it a towering 11.6 inches of ground clearance.
It’s also equipped with an 8,000-pound Warn winch, a hoop grille guard, heavy duty rock sliders and comes bundled with an 83-piece tool kit.
The engine remains a 6.4-liter rated at 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, which is capable of accelerating the vehicle to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds on its 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires.
Jeep will build just 3,700 Final Editions, with 3,300 slated for the U.S., 300 for Canada and 100 for the rest of the world. The U.S. price is $101,890, including the shipping fee. It comes with black Nappa leather 12-way power front seats, Mayan gold stitching and Tupelo highlights in the cabin, a Final Edition plaque on the tailgate and a fold-out swing gate table.
Dealers are taking orders now and production will begin this spring.
