European formula car racing powerhouse Prema Racing has announced it is entering the IndyCar Series in 2025.
Prema runs teams in the Formula 2 and Formula 3 series, among others, and counts Formula One drivers Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri and American Logan Sargeant among its alumni.
The team entered Formula 2 in 2017 and won the 2020 and 2021 constructors titles.
The Italian team currently races in the U.S. with the Lamborghini GTP entry in the IMSA sports car series.

The team will run Chevrolet power and plans a two-car team that will debut at the 2025 Indy 500.
“Today’s announcement marks a pivotal moment in the history of Prema Racing. Making the step to the NTT IndyCar Series, and competing in the world-famous Indianapolis 500, is a dream coming true for our family and everyone involved in our business. We have tremendous respect for INDYCAR, its unique challenges and sensational history, and we look forward to being part of it,” team principal Rene Rosin said in a press release.
“While competing in IndyCar will not be easy, we are determined to put in our best effort, learn as quickly as possible and become leading contenders right from the start. The desire to fight for victory is our driving force, and the thoroughness of the challenge will give us even more motivation to succeed.”
The Prema IndyCar team will operate out of a dedicated facility located in Indianapolis. The driver lineup has not yet been announced.
