The 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E is ready to hit the road.

The compact electric SUV has been updated with a new rear motor and other small updates that improve its performance.

Pricing (not including the $1,895 destination fee) now starts at $39,995 for the entry-level rear-wheel-drive Select, which is equipped with a standard range battery good for 250 miles per charge.

An extra $4,000 adds all-wheel-drive, which drops the range to 230 miles, and another $3,000 an extended range battery that increases the range to 300 miles.

The higher spec Premium lists for $43,995 with the standard battery and rear-wheel-drive, $46,995 with either rear-wheel-drive or the extended range battery and $49,995 with all-wheel-drive and the extended range battery.

The high performance GT comes standard with all-wheel-drive and the extended range battery for $53,995. Its powertrain is rated at 480 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, but a performance upgrade is available for $995 that increases the torque to 700 lb-ft. That allows it to sprint to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and cover a quarter-mile in 11.8 seconds, both of which will leave a V8-powered Mustang GT in the dust.

A new $59,995 Rally trim combines the GT’s powertrain upgrade with an off-road tuned suspension that allows it to drive on rough terrain.

The Mustang Mach-E can also charge quicker than when it launched in 2021, with the extended range pack requiring 36.8 minutes to fill from 10% to 80%, which is an 8.8-minute improvement, and the standard range pack’s time dropping by 5.7 minutes to 32.3.

For 2024, the Mustang Mach-E is compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network, although it requires an adapter to plug in. Starting next year, the NACS-type plug will be a factory equipped feature.
