Shelby American has released the first images of its upcoming seventh-generation Mustang model.
Referred to as “the next one” in social media posts, the cropped photos show blue and red cars.
The car features a prominent chin splitter held by supports, hood pins and a large rear wing that appears to be adjustable.
It is depicted with a manual transmission that has a Shelby cueball-style shifter grip, while a shot of the engine bay confirms that it will have a supercharged V8.
Shelby didn’t indicate what the model name will be or how much power it will have, but the teasers suggest that a full reveal is imminent.
The 60th anniversary of the original Mustang is coming up on April 17, so it is possible that the car will be a part of the celebration.
A 60th anniversary trim package for the standard Mustang will also make its debut that day during a Mustang celebration being held at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
