Erik Jones got the worst of a Toyota tie-up at Talladega.

Six of the brand’s cars were drafting together after pit stops when Jones was hit from behind by Bubba Wallace and spun into the wall.

Jones, Wallace and Hamlin were all eliminated from the race. Tyler Reddick, who was leading the Toyota pack at the time of the wreck, went on to win in a wild finish as leader Michael McDowell hit fellow Ford driver Brad Keselowski on the final stretch, opening the door for Reddick to drive through to victory.

Jones was released from the infield care center after an initial examination, but continued back pain led him to the hospital, where it was discovered that he had fractured his spine.

MAYBE THE CHEVROLET TRAX SHOULD BE GM’S NEXT NASCAR CUP SERIES CAR

The Legacy Motor Club driver will sit out at least the next race at Dover, where Truck Series driver Corey Heim will fill in.

It’s not clear yet how long it will be before Jones is able to get back into the car.

“I’m going to be kind of taking it week by week here and seeing how things go,” Jones said in a video posted to social media.

“It means a lot seeing the outpouring of support over the last few days,” he added in a follow-up post.

“Thank you to my fans for the positive messages and well wishes. I’m 100% committed to my health and recovery, and your kind words have been amazing to see.”

The Würth 400 at Dover International Speedway is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 28.
