It’s ready for an encore on the auction block.

A 2005 Ford GT that was originally owned by musician Kid Rock will be offered at the upcoming Mecum Auctions event in Indianapolis on Saturday, May 18.

The car features Mark IV Red paint and is equipped with all four options that were available for the GT, which were racing stripes, BBS wheels, gloss-red painted calipers and an upgraded McIntosh audio system.

The car is powered by its original mid-mounted 540 hp supercharged 5.4-liter V8, which sends its power to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.

Kid Rock owned the car until 2022, when he sold it at a RM Sotheby’s auction for $638,000.

That price was well above Hagerty’s current $525,000 estimate for a concours condition model. Mecum has put a pre-auction estimate of $500,000 to $600,000 on the car.

The GT had 3,096 miles on its odometer when Rock sold it and 3,110 today, so it’s hardly been driven over the past two years.

Ford sold 4,038 GTs from 2004 through 2006 and followed it up with the 2017 to 2023 GT, which used a turbocharged V6 that maxed out at 660 hp in street-legal models.

THE USA NEEDS MORE AMERICAN SUPERCARS

The price is expected to be $325,000 and Ford is now accepting applications to be approved to buy one.
