The 10 Car Brands That Get The Most Speeding Tickets
You shouldn’t judge a driver by their car, but the speed demon is in the data.
A new study by Insurify has identified the 10 car brands that have the most speeding tickets per vehicle.
The auto insurance marketplace looked at over 4.6 million applications to determine the figures.
On average, 7.1% of drivers have a speeding violation on their record, but the owners of several brands were a bit higher than that.

Infiniti drivers were the worst offenders at 8.7%, followed by Scion drivers at 8.4.% and Volkswagen drivers at 8.3%. Subaru was next at 8.0% and Mazda fifth at 7.7%. Audi (7.6%), Kia (7.6%), Honda (7.5%), BMW (7.4%) and Hyundai (7.4%) rounded out the top 10 list.
One thing all of the brands have in common is that they mostly sell cars and crossovers.

Honda and Hyundai are the only ones with pickup in their lineups, but they are the crossover-based Ridgeline and Santa Cruz. This may partly explain why there are no U.S. brands on the list.
The study also highlighted the specific models within those brands that account for the most citations and all but one are sports cars. The outlier is the BMW i3, which is a compact that was offered with either an all-electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain.
