The Hennessey VelociRaptoR Is A 1,043 HP Ford F-150 Raptor R
No one will complain about the number.
Despite being called the VelociRaptor 1000, Hennessey’s latest Ford F-150 Raptor R-based truck is a 1,043 hp pickup.
The Texas tuning house 3.8-liter Whipple supercharger with heavy duty belt, high-flow air induction, billet fuel rails, new fuel lines and custom calibration to crank up the power on Ford’s supercharged 5.2-liter V8.

The first trucks that are in production now are based on the 2023 F-150 Raptor R, which was rated at 700 hp, but the updates will apply to the 720 hp 2024 models when they start coming in.

Along with the power upgrade, Hennessey adds steel bumpers of its own design, unique 20-inch wheels with 37-inch tires plust front and rear leveling kits that combine to give the truck a three-inch lift. Power side steps are appropriately included.

Even with all of the off-road equipment, Hennessey says the VelociRaptoR 1000 can accelerate to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and cover a quarter-mile in 11.4 seconds at 122 mph. A six-piston Brembo brake kit is offered as an option.
The package is priced at $55,950 on top of the F-150 Raptor R, which currently starts at $112,250. Hennessey provides a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty on the work.

With or without Hennessey’s handiwork, the F-150 Raptor R should be able to hold the Most Powerful Production Pickup That’s Not Electric title for a while.
Its top rival, the Ram 1500 TRX went out of production last year and its replacement, the Ram 1500 RHO has a 540 hp turbocharged inline-six-cylinder.

Ram will likely introduce a new TRX in the coming years, but hasn’t indicated when or how powerful it might be, although it’s hard to imagine that a new TRX won’t aim to vanquish the Raptor and reclaim its position at the top of the truck food chain.
