He was waiting for him. He had to.

Kyle Busch wrecked Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on the second lap of the NASCAR All-Star Race because he though Stenhouse pushed him up wide into the wall on lap one.

Replays don’t appear to show any contact, but Busch pulled up behind Stenhouse and turned him intentionally, ending his quest for the $1 million prize.

North Wilkesboro Speedway doesn’t have a tunnel out of the infield, meaning Stenhouse was stuck there until the end of the race.

Joey Logano won, leading 199 of 200 laps, and Busch finished 10th before heading to Stenhouse’s trailer.

There, amid literal fireworks going off, the two drivers came to words and Stenhouse punched Busch in the face and threw him to the ground before crew members got involved and ultimately broke up the altercation.

Stenhouse later said, “I know he’s frustrated because he doesn’t run near as good as he used to.”

Busch has not yet commented on the altercation.
