The $54,000 Cadillac Optiq Is A 300-Mile EV
The Cadillac Optiq will be the brand’s entry level electric vehicle when it goes on sale this fall, but far from its lowest-priced SUV.
The compact utility vehicle will have a starting price of approximately $54,000, while the internal combustion engine XT4 starts around $38,000.
The Optiq is closer in size to the $44,000 XT5, but comes packed with features.
It is equipped with a standard all-wheel-drive system rated at 300 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque and an 84 kWh battery pack good for an estimated 300 miles of range per charge.

The vehicle is closely related to the Chevrolet Equinox EV, which will be offered in a $34,995 model with 319 miles of range and a 213 hp front-wheel-drive system. The Optiq also features Cadillac’s Super Cruise highway driving system standard with a three-year subscription included.
The dashboard has the 33-inch digital display that’s been added across Cadillac’s lineup and uses recycled yarn and “PaperWood” made from tulip wood and recycled newspaper as part of the interior trim.
The Optiq will be offered in Luxury and Sport grades and full pricing and specifications will be released closer to when deliveries begin. It will be produced alongside the Equinox EV at GM’s Ramos Arizpe factory in Mexico, which allows it to qualify for the full $7,500 federal tax credit on EV purchases.
