Chevrolet will take the covers off of the next Corvette on July 25.

The automaker has announced that date for the reveal of the 2025 Corvette ZR1.

The ZR1 is set to be the highest performance version of the eighth-generation Corvette, but no technical details have officially been released yet.

Prototypes spotted being tested and a few digital renderings show that it will feature an extreme aerodynamics package with a giant rear wing and a front splitter with large end plates that positions it as a track-focused model.

As far as what it will be powered by, several teaser audio clips back up rumors that it will use a turbocharged version of the 5.5-liter V8 that’s currently found in the Corvette Z06 in naturally aspirated form with 670 hp. Chevrolet continues to use the word “unthinkable” to describe the new Corvette ZR1, which suggests it will have incredible power, amazing technology or both.

The most-powerful Corvette ever sold was the seventh-generation ZR1, which had a 755 hp supercharged V8, while the 2024 Corvette E-Ray combines a V8 powering the rear wheels with an electric motor that drives the front wheels.

The Corvette E-Ray’s combined horsepower is 655 hp, but the all-wheel-drive traction helps it accelerate to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and clock 10.5 second quarter-mile times, making it the quickest Corvette ever.

Chevrolet hasn’t said what models the Corvette ZR1 are meant to compete with, but along with all of the foreign supercars available today, the $325,000 Ford Mustang GTD goes on sale later this year with an 800 hp supercharged V8 and a top speed in the 210 mph range.
