The Nissan Rogue is ready for rougher stuff.

Nissan has unveiled the 2025 Rogue with several new features and an rugged Rock Creek edition trim, just a year after the lineup received a mid-cycle update for 2024.

Similar to the Pathfinder Rock Creek edition that has been on sale for a few years, the all-wheel-drive trim includes a set of black 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, a redesigned front bumper and grille, a roof rack, water-repellent upholstery and Lava Red highlights.

There aren’t any suspension upgrades or added underbody protection, so its off-pavement capability is limited, but it also has a 360-degree camera that works up to 12 mph in an off road mode to help avoid obstacles.

The Rogue will be offered in S, SV, Rock Creek, SL and Platinum trim, and all are equipped with a carryover 201 hp turbocharged three-cylinder engine. The 1.5-liter motor features a variable compression ratio for improved efficiency and is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission with either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive, depending on the trim. The lineup also gets Google built-in for the infotainment system, which also has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration.

One of the biggest changes comes to Nissan’s ProPILOT Assist lane-centering adaptive cruise control, which been given new capabilities. There’s a standard version that comes on the SV and Rock Creek, a ProPILOT 1.1 on the SL and Platinum that adds a navigation link, which can slow the vehicle for upcoming curves, and an optional ProPILOT 2.1 for the SL and Platinum that offers full hands-free highway driving on certain highways. It’s similar to GM’s Super Cruise and Ford’s Blue Cruise and requires the driver to pay attention to the road in order to operate.

Oddly, the SL and Platinum get an “invisible hood” feature for their 360-degree camera systems that provides a virtual view of what’s underneath the vehicle, which seems ideal for the Rock Creek.
