2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Reveal! What To Expect
The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is set to be unveiled on July 25.
Details on the new model haven’t been announced, but it is set to slot into the lineup above the Z06.
Chevy has released some teaser videos of it. however, and camouflaged examples have been spotted testing on the road and race tracks, offering a few hits about what’s in store.
But will it be good enough to follow the Corvette E-Ray as the American Cars And Racing US-Built Sports Car Of The Year™? Here’s what we know and what we don’t know:
BODY DOUBLE
The ZR1 appears to feature the wide body version of Corvette platform shared with the Z06 and E-Ray, but with a few extra cooling holes carved into it.
IT’S A WINGED BEAST
The ZR1 prototypes and teased renderings feature a radical aerodynamic kit that’s clearly designed to provide maximum downforce for track driving. There’s a huge splitter and dive plains up front and a gigantic rear wing that looks more aggressive than the one on the Z06.
TURBO POWER?
The word on the street is that the ZR1 will use a twin-turbocharged version of the Z06’s 670 hp 5.5-liter V8 and the quad center exhaust pipe design on the prototypes backs this up, as these are currently unique to the Z06.

What’s not made certain from the sound in the teasers and test videos is whether or not it keeps the Z06’s exotic flat-plane-crank or switches to a cross-plane-crank, but the exhaust note does seem to be slightly mellowed compared to the Z06’s, as turbos would do.
WILL IT SHOCK EVERYONE?
The E-Ray uses a 160 hp electric motor to power its front wheels that’s not mechanically connected to mid-mounted V8 and transmission driving the rear wheels, so it’s not out of the question that the ZR1 won’t do the same. One thing it probably doesn’t have is a “frunk” as it is equipped with a vented hood that’s likely designed to reduce front lift.
FASTER THAN YOU CAN THINK
The E-Ray uses it’s all-wheel-drive system to accelerate to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, beating the Z06’s 2.6 second time, but forget about that. Chevrolet says the ZR1 will have “Unthinkable Speed” so we’re not even going to try to guess how quick and fast it will be.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
The ZR1 will no doubt be the most expensive Corvette. The Z06 holds that position today with a base price of $115,390, but if you add the Z07 performance package, carbon fiber wheels and other options it’s easy to get that over $160,000, which still seems like a deal. Will the ZR1 be the first $200,000 Corvette?
