Dale Earnhardt Jr’s JR Motorsports Signs Connor Zilisch For The No. 88 Car In 2025
Connor Zilisch is making a big move.
The versatile 18-year-old racer will has signed a multi-year deal with JR Motorsports to run the full 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series starting in 2025.
Zilisch has a developmental contract with Trackhouse Racing and competes in a wide variety of racing disciplines.
This year alone he won the Daytona 24-hour and Sebring 12-hour races in the IMSA LMP2 class, is three-for-three in the ARCA Menards Series, has several major late model and Trans Am wins and even took the checkered flag in the Mazda MX-5 Cup event at Mid-Ohio.

He only has one start in an NASCAR national series event at the 2023 Truck Series race at Circuit of the Americas with Spire Motorsports, but he came in fourth.
“Connor is such an impressive driver at this young age,” Earnhardt said in a press release on the news.
“We’re excited for him to get behind the wheel full time next season. He is on a path to sure success with support from Chevrolet, Silver Hare Racing, Trackhouse, and now JR Motorsports.”
Zilisch is currently on deck to drive the No. 88 in this year’s Xfinity Series races at Watkins Glen, Kansas, Homestead-Miami and Phoenix.
“With so much support from Chevrolet and chances to race in Trucks, ARCA and Trans Am with the support of Silver Hare Racing, I was able to sign with Trackhouse and they went to work to secure an incredible opportunity for me,” said Zilisch. “I am so grateful and can’t wait to show them that their trust in me is warranted. It is mind-blowing to think that I will be driving for JR Motorsports and Dale Earnhardt, Jr., who is one of my heroes. I’m ready to put in the work.”
JR Motorsports fields four full-time cars in the Xfinity Series this year and Justin Allgaier stands second in the regular season points standings going into Michigan on Aug. 17.
Earnhardt will be behind the wheel of the No. 88 car at Bristol for his only NASCAR race of the season.
