A.J. Allmendinger Returning To The NASCAR Cup Series In 2025 With Kauling Racing

The Dinger is back.

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver A.J. Allmendinger will return to the Cup Series full-time in 2025 with Kauling Racing, the team announced on Thursday.

Allmendinger drove the No. 16 Cup Sereis car for the team in 2023 when he finished 21st in the points standings and picked up a win at the Charlotte Roval.

Allmendinger is currently sixth in the Xfinity Series regular season standings and has made 10 Cup Series starts in the No. 16 car, which he has been sharing with a rotating cast of drivers.

The 42-year-old is set to race in both the Xfinity Series and Cup Series events at Michigan Internationa. Speedway this weekend.

“We’re so excited to bring @AJDinger back up to Cup full-time,” Kaulig Racing President Chris Rice wrote on social medial.

“He’s been a cornerstone of our Cup program from the beginning and we’re ready to continue moving forward for years to come!”

Allmendinger’s on-again, off-again Cup Series career dates back to 2006. He’s made 117 starts since then with three wins, all on road courses.
