Ford Reveals Off-Road Mustang And Mach 4 Sedan
The Mustang may be multiplying.
Ford CEO Jim Farley was recently in Las Vegas meeting with the automaker’s dealers and dropped a few surprises at the gathering.
Automotive News reports that Farley showed off several potential future Mustang variants including a off-road model and a four-door sedan called the Mach 4.
Ford already sells an off-road version of the electric Mustang Mach-E called the Rally that features increased ride height, an updated suspension and rally-style wheels with all-terrain tires.

Cameras were not allowed at the meeting, but the Mustang coupe described by sources to Automotive News sounds like it was designed in a similar vein.
Although not based on a real-world car, the Sony Playstation video game Gran Turismo 7 features a Mustang rally car.
As for the four-door model, it wasn’t the first time Farley has suggested it. Earlier this year, he told Autocar that one was under consideration.
It would bring a sedan back to Ford’s U.S. lineup for the first time since the Fusion was discontinued in 2020 and give it a direct competitor to the upcoming 2025 Dodge Charger.
Other models mentioned at the event were a turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost-powered Mustang modified by RTR and a convertible with the looks of a Shelby GT500.

Ford does have something on the way in 2025. During the Mustang’s 60th anniversary celebration this year a Mustang was teased with an image showing one covered by a sheet that had a prominent rear wing or spoiler.

There was also a video that appeared to show an all-wheel-drive Mustang doing a burnout. Ford hasn’t confirmed plans for a model with that type of drivetrain, but the word on the street is that it may be equipped with a hybrid powertrain.
