The NASCAR Cup Series Announces Mexico City Race For 2025
The National Association for Stock Car Racing is going international.
NASCAR has announced that it will hold a Cup Series race at Mexico City’s Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez road course on June 15, 2025.
It will be the first Cup Series points race held outside of the U.S. since a race in Canada in 1958, a year before the Mexico City track opened.
The Xfinity Series visited the facility from 2005 through 2008 and will be there with the Cup Series next year.

The 17-turn, 2.674-mile circuit hosts an annual Formula One race along with the NASCAR Mexico Series, which will also be a part of the Cup Series weekend.
“This is a historic moment for our sport, and specifically for the NASCAR Cup Series, in being able to expand our footprint to Mexico,” said Ben Kennedy, NASCAR’s Executive Vice President & Chief Venue & Racing Innovation Officer.
“We’ve been bold about our intentions to grow on a global scale, and there isn’t a better place to take the next step in that journey than at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez road course in Mexico City.”

NASCAR hasn’t announced the full 2025 schedule, but Richmond Raceway will lose one of its events to make space for the Mexico race.
The only weekends confirmed so far are the season-opening Clash exhibition race, which will be held at Winston-Salem’s Bowman Gray Stadium on Feb. 2, the Daytona 500 on Feb 16, the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway on May 18th, the Coca-Cola 600 on May 25th, Atlanta on June 28th, the Southern 500 on Sept. 1 and the championship at Phoenix on Nov. 2.
