New Bulletproof Lucid Air Sapphire Is A Quick Electric Getaway Car
Sapphire is one of the hardest gemstones on Earth and now there’s a new Lucid Air Sapphire that lives up to the name.
US Armor Group has started offering a bulletproof version of the 1,234 hp electric sedan.
The security car specialist updates the Air with composite armor and bulletproof windows rated at HG2 level armoring that can withstand a hit from a .44 Magnum round or a shotgun blast.
It only adds 385 pounds to the vehicle, so it’s not much different from bringing two large passengers along, which shouldn’t harm its performance too much.

According to Lucid, the Air Sapphire can cover a quarter-mile in less than nine seconds had hit a top speed of 205 mph, or deliver 427 miles between charges if you’re taking it easy.
Pricing starts at $475,000, while a standard Air Sapphire list for $250,000. A range of options are available including sealing the cabin against gas attacks, gun ports, external pepper sprayers, advanced communications and electrified door handles.
