And then there was one.

Pricing for the 2025 Nissan Versa has been released and it will be the lowest-priced car sold in the USA.

The Mexican-built subcompact sedan will start at $18,330 including destination fees for a model with a six-speed manual transmission, making it the only new vehicle available with a list price that’s less than $20,000.

The $17,840 Mitsubishi Mirage is currently the only other vehicle below that threshold, but it is being discontinued after the 2024 model year.

The Mirage does come standard with a CVT automatic, however, and opting for one in the 2025 Versa pushes the price to $20,130.

All Versa’s come standard with a 122 hp four-cylinder engine that’s good for 35 mpg combined with the CVT. A top of the line SR trim starts at $22,330.

The lowest priced vehicle from an American brand remains the Chevrolet Trax, which is imported from South Korea and will start at $21,495.

As for vehicles that are US-built, The Mississippi-made Toyota Corolla will start at $24,640 in 2025. The Chevrolet Malibu is the lowest-priced car built in the USA by an American brand, but will be discontinued this November.

It looks like the Malibu’s slot on the price scale will be filled by the Ford Escape, which is made in Kentucky and starts at $30,990 for a 2024 model, while the Michigan-built 2024 Chevrolet Colorado has a base price of $31,395.
