The Ford F-150 Lightning may be the brand’s only electric F-Series, but now there’s a way to plug some gas F-150 models into more power.

Ford Performance has introduced new performance calibration upgrades for the 2021-2023 F-150 Raptor and F-150s with the turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6.

The $825 software package comes with a ProCal tool that uploads it into the vehicle, and includes a three-year/36,000-mile warranty if the work is done by a certified technician.

The upgrade boosts the F-150 Raptor’s maximum output from 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque to 466 hp and 554 lb-ft, while the standard 3.5-liter EcoBoost increases from 400 hp and 500 lb-ft to 450 hp and 510 lb-ft. The power and torque curves are also improved along with throttle response and the transmission shift schedules.

The upgrade for the standard 3.5-liter EcoBoost is compatible with both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive F-150s in any cab configuration, but does not work with the Ford F-150 PowerBoost hybrid powertrain that also uses the engine. California F-150 owners are also out of luck as the upgrades are only 49-state legal, which is often the case with after sales engine calibrations. Premium fuel is required and the software is intended to work with the stock tire sizes for each truck.

The F-150 isn’t the only Ford truck getting this sort of attention. Ford recently released similar upgrades for the Ranger Raptor and Bronco Raptor that increased their outputs from 405 hp/430 lb-ft to 455 hp/536 lb-ft and from 430 hp/440 lb-ft to 455 hp and 536 lb-ft, respectively.
