Ford CEO Jim Farley has announced that the reveal of the 2025 Ford Expedition will take place on October 3.

Farley’s social media post included an image of the front of the full-size SUV, showing its redesigned grille and lights.

The 2025 Expedition is expected to be an update of the current model, rather than an entirely new vehicle.

Details haven’t been shared, but prototypes have been spotted on public roads featuring new interiors that adopt a large digital display at the top of the dashboard that houses the instrument cluster and informational screens.

There’s also a large touchscreen above the center console, and the entire setup is similar to the one found in the 2025 Lincoln Navigator, which is the luxury brand’s version of the Expedition.

Several of the vehicles that have been spotted also appear to feature an off-road trim like the Tremor option that is available on the F-150, with which the Expedition shares an architecture.

One main point that hasn’t been confirmed is whether or not the Expedition will adopt the F-150’s PowerBoost hybrid drivetrain, or stick with just offering the 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 that is its sole powertrain today, as the Navigator has.

Ford is aiming to add hybrid options for all of its models in the coming years, but the next entirely new Expedition isn’t expected before 2028.

A next-generation full-size electric pickup is scheduled to be on sale by then, as well. Ford hasn’t yet said if there will be an SUV version, but it has applied for a few patents with interesting pickup features, including a hatchback connecting the cabin to the bed.
