Talk about buying in bulk!
Costco is offering its members a $1,000 discount on the purchase of a GMC Hummer EV.
The Costco Auto Program deal runs through Jan. 1, 2025 and applies to any 2024 or 2025 Hummer EV Pickup or SUV, or the 2023 pickup if you find one that’s still on a dealer lot.
Unfortunately, you had to be a member of the warehouse club by Sept. 30 to be eligible, so don’t go signing up now if you are looking for a discount on a full-size electric off-road truck.
FRIDAY FANTASY: THE 2008 HUMMER HX LIVED ON IN IRONIC WAYS
With starting prices of $98,845 for either model, it’s not exactly make or break money for someone shopping in that price segment, but even the top 1% probably won’t complain about getting 1% off the bottom line.
Both are offered in two-motor 2x and tri-motor 3x trims for 2025. The SUVs have 570 hp and 830 hp, respectively, and the pickups 570 hp and 1,000 hp. They need that much power, because they all weigh on the order of 9,000 pounds thanks to their large battery packs, which are rated for 282 to 318 miles of range between charges, depending on the model.

If you’re planning to use the pickup for shopping at Costco, it has a five-foot bed and payload ratings of 1,485 pounds for the 2x and 1,300 pounds for the 3x, so it’ll have no problem handling a couple of of those 96-roll boxes of toilet paper and a couple of rotisserie chickens for dinner.
Even without the Costo deal, GMC is offering some pretty aggressive lease pricing right now. Relatively speaking. The 2x pickup is currently advertised as low as $849 per month with $4,730 down on a 36-month lease, which can take advantage of the $7,500 federal tax credit that is not available on sales of trucks and SUVs that are priced at $80,000 or more.
