Jeep is showing the direction its next Compass SUV will take when it debuts next year.

The automaker has released a teaser sketch of the model, which will be built on its “multi-energy” STLA Medium platform.

That means it can be offered in fully electric, hybrid and pure internal combustion engine models.

Jeep’s parent company Stellantis is following this strategy with all of its upcoming model lines, including the Dodge Charger Daytona and Charger, which are EV and ICE vehicles that share a common body.

Jeep said the vehicle will launch in Europe next year and be built at a factory in Italy before it will “expand to North America and globally in 2026.”

It has not said if it will continue to be manufactured for the U.S. market at the Toluca, Mexico, factory where it is built today.
