IndyCar is heading back to Texas, but it will have a new home when it gets there.

The racing series has announced the creation of the new Grand Prix of Arlington, which will be held on the roads that wind through a sports and entertainment district that includes the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium and the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field.

Both sports teams will be involved in promoting the event, which will take place on a 2.73-mile circuit, with the first race scheduled for March 2026.

IndyCar previously raced at the Texas Motor Speedway oval, which is about a half-hour from Arlington, but it was left off of the 2024 and 2025 schedules.

The series recently announced the establishment of a charter system that gives 25 cars across 10 teams guaranteed entry into each of its races, not counting the Indy 500, and participation in the Leaders Circle bonus program for the top 22 in the season standings. The initial contract runs through the 2032 season and does not include a TV revenue sharing deal like NASCAR’s.
