You Probably Missed This Iron Man Reference In The Tesla Robovan’s Reveal
Fans of Elon Musk often liken him to Tony Stark, the Marvel character also known as Iron Man.
They’re both industrialists involved in cutting-edge technology with lots of pizazz and big on self-promotion, so the similarity isn’t too far fetched.
Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau even met with Musk to draw inspiration from him for the version played by Downey in the first Iron Man film, which was directed by Favreau.
Musk also made a cameo in the film “Iron Man 2” in a scene where he bumps into Stark at a a restaurant and he’s more than happy to share memes of himself in the Iron Man suit.

The new Robovan Musk unveiled on Thursday night features a dramatic style drawn from the streamlined art deco trains of the 1930s, which was before Tony Stark’s time, but right when his father Howard Stark was getting started with the business he’d pass on to his son. It’s exactly the kind of thing the Starks would come up with if they were in the autonomous van business.

Someone at Tesla clearly had all of this in mind when they were creating the images of the Robovan, because one of them has an Iron Man Easter Egg. It shows the vehicle parked on a city street in front of a record store, but not just any record store.
Zoom in on the sign and you can see that it is called Stark Records. No such company exists in the Marvel universe, but the chances of it being a coincidence are probably about as good as Musk building an Iron Man suit and flying away in it.
Come to think of it, after the first assassination attempt on his new pal Donald Trump’s life, Musk did say on X, “maybe it’s time to build that flying metal suit of armor.”
