The frunk has been shrunk! But so has the price.

The 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E has been revealed and, while it doesn’t look much different from the current model, it brings several key updates and price cuts.

The entry-level Select trim now starts at $38,490, which is $3,500 less than the 2024 model. The Premium trim is down $3,000 to $41,990 and the 480 horsepower GT down $2,500 to $54,990. Even the top of the line Mustang Mach-E Rally’s price has been reduced by $3,000 to $57,990. The Mustang Mach-E is not eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit on electric vehicle purchases, but the discount can be applied to leases.

The Mustang Mach-E also now features a heat pump for the climate control system that should improve its efficiency significantly, particularly in cold weather, although Ford has not updated estimated driving ranges for the lineup.

Unfortunately, the heat pump’s location under the hood has reduced the size of the Mustang Mach-E’s frunk storage space, but the sealed compartment still has drainage and can double as a cooler when filled with ice.

Ford also made the switch from a rotary gear selector knob to a steering column-mounted stalk. Many customers prefer this design and it created additional storage space on the console that includes a new smartphone holder.

The 2025 Mustang Mach-E will also be introducing the latest 1.5 version of Ford’s Blue Cruise hands-free highway driving system, which will now be able to check for traffic and change lanes either automatically or when the driver hits the turn signal. GM’s Super Cruise can already do this, but Blue Cruise adds the ability to automatically move over for a faster car that’s coming up directly behind you as long as you’re in the fast lane or center lane of a highway. It won’t initiate the maneuver from the far right slow lane.

Ford is also changing the way the Blue Cruise subscription is offered and is making it available for either a monthly or annual fee and, for the first time, as a one-time lifetime purchase that can be financed with the price of the vehicle and stays with it if it is resold.

A few styling updates are being made, including the introduction of Molten Magenta Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Velocity Blue Metallic, and Desert Sand paint options and three new wheels, with the Mach-E Rally getting a grey option along with the white wheels that were standard in 2024.

The Premium trim can also be ordered with a Sport Appearance Package that comes with the GT’s black grill and red Brembo brake calipers, 19-inch wheels, black rocker and wheel arch trim, red upholstery stitching and metal sport pedals. All Premium models now feature ventilated front seats.
