Now this is an electric slide!

Chevrolet has made the surprise announcement that the 2025 Silverado EV RST will be equipped with a diagonal driving feature called Sidewinder.

It’s the same as the GMC Hummer EV’s Crab Walk Mode and uses the Silverado EV RST’s four-wheel steering system to turn the rear wheels in synch with the front wheels at up to a 10 degree angle.

It works at speeds of 20 mph or less and allows the vehicle to drive diagonally, which could be useful in some tight situations.

The 2024 Silverado EV RST came standard with four-wheel steering that could only turn the rear wheels opposite the fronts to reduce its turning circle, and existing trucks will be updated with the Sidewinder capability through an over-the-air software update at no cost.
