We’re still hours away from knowing who will be riding down Pennsylvania Avenue in the presidential “Beast” limousine on Inauguration Day in 2025, but hopefully they’ll have a smoother ride in it than Samuel Jackson.
The Hollywood legend is starring as the president in an upcoming film that features the world’s most famous Cadillac, or perhaps we should say he is co-starring in it.
The movie is called “The Beast” and centers around an attempted coup that finds the president uncovering “the extent of The Beast’s highly classified offensive capabilities,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Plot specifics have not been released, but, as the title suggests, the car is very much the star.

The movie also stars Joel Kinnaman from “Silent Night” and “For All Mankind” and is being directed by James Madigan, who is a visual effects artist and second unit director whose resume includes “The Meg” and “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.”
The first “Beast” limousine debuted during Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009 and a new version was added to The White House fleet during Donald Trump’s presidency in 2018. Technical details are a closely-held secret, but the vehicle is built on a medium-duty truck chassis, despite having the body of a sedan, which led to it’s nickname.
Protective equipment is understood to include armoring that can withstand heavy gun fire and bomb blasts, a hermetically sealed cabin with its own air supply to fend off chemical weapons attacks, a night vision system for the driver and a full medical kit with a supply of the president’s blood type.

Its offensive capabilities are less known and it’s likely the movie will speculate and exaggerate, although the Secret Service staff on board is heavily armed and the vehicle may have a built-in tear gas system and other weaponry. The vehicle, of course, is always accompanied by a large motorcade that includes several other armored vehicles.
General Motors led the development of the Beast through a $15.8 million contract, but several have been built and that price includes some ongoing service costs.

The Beast has previously been recreated for the big screen, with the first generation version appearing in 2013’s “White House Down,” but it wasn’t the focus of the film. That vehicle was built on a Chevrolet Suburban chassis, while the one from the new film has yet to be revealed at all.
There’s no indication when a real next-generation presidential limousine will be launched, either, and an exact release date for “The Beast” film has not been announced, but it should be ready to take (the box) office in 2025 or 2026.
