See It: NASCAR Pace Car Wrecks During Championship Race At Phoenix
The NASCAR pace car needs to watch its own pace!
The NASCAR Championship race at Phoenix was red-flagged just before the start of the second stage due to a bizarre occurence.
As the pace car was leading the field to the starting line for Stage Two it turned into pit lane too late to make it and slammed into the sand filled barrels at the end of pit wall.
The vehicle was only slightly damaged and the driver wasn’t injured, but the mess at the entrance to pit lane required an extensive clean-up that brought out the red flag.
