Dodge is hitting the gas pedal on its new Charger, according to a new report.
The electric Dodge Charger Daytona is expected to be in showrooms before the end of the year and was supposed to be followed in late 2025 by a Charger SIXPACK powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine in late 2025, but the latter be arriving much sooner than that.
The two models are built on a common platform that can accommodate either electric or internal combustion engine drivetrains, which allows Dodge to easily adjust the mix to meet the market.
Sources familiar with the program told Mopar Insiders that demand for the Charger SIXPACK has been so strong that it led Dodge to accelerate the production schedule and it is now slated to go on sale early next summer.

Asked for comment on the report, a Dodge spokesman told American Cars And Racing that “we have not made any new announcements regarding future product plans.”
Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Chrysler had all decided in recent years to eliminate V8 engines from their lineups as they shift toward electrification and more fuel efficient powertrains, with the new 3.0-liter turbocharged-inline-six cylinder already offered in several Jeep and Ram vehicles.
However, along with a slower than expected adoption curve for electric vehicles, president-elect Donald Trump has made it clear that his administration will ease the emissions standards that have helped pushed Dodge and other automakers in this direction and may rollback some of the electric vehicle subsidies that are currently in place.
