Official: Tesla Is The Last All-American Car Brand
And then there was one … for now,.
With the recent debut of the upcoming Mexico-built Cadillac Optiq and Acura ADX, the two brands have ended their streaks of selling only US-Built models in the United States.
The only full-line automaker that can now make that claim is Tesla, which has factories in Germany and China, but does not import any vehicles for sale in the U.S. market.
Rivian and Lucid also sell only domestically manufactured vehicles, but the startups each have just two models that are available now. They do have plans to add more US-built vehicles, but not for a couple of years.

Tesla manufactures its Cybertruck and best-selling Model Y at a factory in Austin, Tex., and also builds the Model Y alongside the Model 3, Model S and Model X in its original Fremont, Calif., facility.
Cadillac and Acura aren’t expected to add any more imports in the foreseeable future and still produce the majority of their lineups at U.S. factories.

Tesla had been planning to open a factory in Mexico that would build a new entry-level model, but its future is unclear and could be further hampered by changes to U.S. trade policy under the incoming Trump administration.
