Kia And Hyundai Are Going To Own The Los Angeles Auto Show With 6 New Vehicle Reveals
The upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show won’t be hosting as many new vehicle reveals as in the good old days, but one automaker group is putting on a show of its own.
Hyundai Motor Group brands Kia and Hyundai will be debuting six new models at the event on Nov. 21. The bulk of those will be from Kia, which is unveiling five new and refreshed vehicles.
“With five vehicles to unveil at next week’s Los Angeles Auto Show, we want it to be made very clear that Kia is driving forward on all fronts,” Steven Center, COO & EVP, Kia America said in a news release.
“We are going to pull the wraps off some of the most important elements of our award-winning portfolio and we believe our customers will be delighted at what’s coming to our showrooms in the very near future.”

The brand teased the event with a shadowy image of what appears to be an updated Sportage, which is its best seller and built both in the U.S. and South Korea. Kia said there would be internal combustion engine, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric models, but didn’t offer further details.
Speculation is that they will include a high performance version of the EV9 three-row electric SUV, which it began building in Georgia this year.
Hyundai will be revealing the electric Ioniq 9 three-row SUV, which shares the EV9’s platform and will be built alongside it in Georgia.

“Ioniq 9’s aerodynamic silhouette, beautiful curves, and pure volume are engineered to create a cohesive form that feels sculptural,” is how Simon Loasby, senior vice president, head of Hyundai Design Center describes it.
“Ioniq’s very own Parametric Pixels are seamlessly integrated into its flushed surfaces. Inside, soft elliptical shapes flow throughout the space, creating a serene and inviting environment. Inside, IONIQ 9 promises a lounge for you and your loved ones.”
