Dodge Wants To Save The Planet From ‘Weak’ Electric Cars
Never change, Dodge.
Dodge has released the first advertising campaign for its upcoming Charger Daytona electric muscle car and it’s very much in the tongue-in-cheek badass tone the brand is known for. At least we think it’s tongue-in-cheek.
The add starts out with beautiful images of the planet with a light piano soundtrack and a voiceover that says, “We aren’t’ building electric vehicles because it’s trendy. We’re building them to make a difference.
To protect our future and our children’s future, we’re building electric vehicles to save our planet.”
But then there’s the twist as a Charger Daytona burns rubber into the scene.

“To save it from all those lame, soulless, weak-looking, self-driving sleep pods everyone else keeps polluting our streets with… gah! That’s why we’re doing it.”
The Charger Daytona is launching in 496 hp R/T and 670 hp Scat Pack trims, both with dual-motor all-wheel drive systems, but they will be joined by a single motor car next year that are a little different.

The Charger shares its body with the Charger Daytona, but is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder that will be offered in 420 hp and 550 hp versions.
Rumor has it that demand for the gas models is so strong that Dodge will launch them by next summer instead of closer to the end of 2025 as was originally planned, but the company has not confirmed any changes to the rollout yet.

The Charger Daytona will begin shipping to dealers before the end of this year, however, and a four-door version will be added early next year.
