Donald Trump needed 77 million votes to get the keys to a presidential limousine this year, but someone else might be able to grab one for a couple of million bucks or less.
A 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Presidential Limousine built during the Clinton administration will be crossing the block at the Mecum Auctions Kissimmee, Fla., event on Jan 18.
The U.S. presidential state car is the last that was based on a production vehicle and is the only fully armored one that has made it into public hands.
Three identical cars were built through a $6 million project and the other two reside with the U.S. government and the William J. Clinton Presidential Library today.

The successor car that was delivered to the Bush administration in 2001 resembled a Cadillac, but was built on a purpose-designed heavy duty chassis that could handle an even higher level of armoring. This was stepped up yet another notch when “The Beast” arrived for the Obama inauguration in 2009.

Clinton’s stretch limousine has B6 level armor and 3-inch bulletproof glass. It is powered by a 454-cubic-inch V8 that was modified by NASCAR engine builder Jack Roush for improved performance.
Aside from a few switches for auxiliary lights and a public address system mounted in the glove compartment, the front cabin looks almost stock, while a seat of rear facing jump seats and a TV console are installed in the rear passenger compartment. The car is street legal and its odometer reads just 627 miles as many presidential limos rarely stray from Washington, D.C.
Mecum hasn’t put an estimated sale price on the vehicle, but it was last auctioned in 2008 for $250,000. Given its rarity and the fact that no Presidential limo built after it will ever be released to the public, its value has surely increased significantly since then and it will almost certainly sell for more than one of Trump’s limousines did last year. Although his wasn’t from the White House fleet.

The 2004 Lincoln Town Car-based limo was originally owned by the Trump Taj Mahal hotel in Atlantic City and used by the president-elect when he was just a real estate mogul and TV star. The car was offered for auction last October and sold for $51,700.
One interesting item that the winning bidder received was Trump’s daily itinerary from May 15-16, 2004, which was found on sheets of paper under the rear seats.
