Turbocharged Ford Mustang RTR Is Almost Ready To Rock
Ford and Ford Performance racing driver Vaughn Gittin Jr. have revealed the first factory-built Mustang co-developed with Gittin’s RTR (Ready to Rock) Vehicles.
The Mustang RTR making its public debut in prototype form at the Detroit Auto Show is powered by the Mustang’s turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine and borrows some performance parts from the Dark Horse Mustang.
Ford hasn’t detailed which ones just yet, but Gittin said that it is “the most technologically advanced, accessible and fun turbocharged Mustang ever.”
Styling updates include RTR’s signature illuminated nostrils in the grille, a pedestal spoiler, a set of unique 19-inch wheels and Hyper Lime Brembo front brake calipers.

The stock EcoBoost engine is rated at 315 hp and 350 lb-ft and no one is saying how much power the Mustang RTR has, but Gittin did reveal that it is equipped with an anti-lag system.
“It’s ready for drifting, drag racing, back-road cruising, or ripping around an autocross track,” Gittin said.
