The Tesla Cybertuck was the best selling electric pickup in the U.S. last year, but things might not be looking great as it heads into 2025.

Tesla doesn’t report the exact sales of its models in the U.S., but the Cox Automotive Electric Vehicle Sales Report said that it delivered 38,965 to customers during the year.

That was enough to beat the Ford F-150 Lightning‘s 33,510 deliveries to take the top spot on the sales charts, but Cybertruck deliveries slowed down significantly at the end of the year.

Tesla delivered 16,692 in the third quarter of 2024, but just 12,991 in the last three months of the year.

The smaller Rivian R1T was a distant third in the truck race with 11,085 delivered.

Tesla closed the year with a number of adjustments to Cybertruck production and pricing updates that appeared to be demand-related, but the company never commented on them.

The Cybertruck and F-150 Lightning were also the fifth and sixth-best selling electric vehicles overall behind the Tesla Model Y, Tesla Model 3, Ford Mustang Mach-E and Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Model Y and Model 3 sales were down significantly compared to 2023, however, with drops of 6.6% and 17.4%, respectively.

The new year did bring the Cybertruck eligibility for the $7,500 federal electric vehicle tax credit, but only on examples price below $80,000.
