Hennessey’s Jeep Gladiator Warhawk Is Ready For Battle
The Gladiator may soon live up to its name.
Hennessey has launched a new department called Hennessey Defense Systems that’s being previewed with a modified Jeep Gladiator pickup outfitted as a military light strike force vehicle.
The Warhawk replaces the Gladiator’s bed with a variety of modular units, including one that has six seats for troop transport. Others are being developed to carry weapons, supplies and emergency medical equipment.
The Warhawk is based on the Gladiator Rubicon and uses the stock 285 hp 3.6-liter V6, but the drivetrain has been armored and Hennessey said it can offer it with engines that run on kerosene or diesel. A set of run-flat off-road tires add to its capability.

The idea is similar to the GM Defense Infantry Squad Vehicle, which is based on the Chevrolet Colorado, but gets a more extensive body makeover than the Warhawk. Hennessey told American Cars And Racing that military personnel were involved with its design and that it already has interest from defense customers.
The Warhawk will be making its public debut at the SHOT (shooting sports, hunting, law enforcement,) Show in Las Vegas that opens on Jan. 21, and Hennessey is also pitching it as a hunting rig and emergency services vehicle.
Pricing hasn’t been announced, but Hennessey is accepting individual and fleet orders for the Warhawk now and can customize it further for each customer’s needs.
