Mike Rowe Sold His 1,000 HP 1962 Dodge Ram Power Wagon For $1.5 Million, But He’s Not Keeping The Money
It was a job well done.
A custom 1962 Dodge Ram Power Wagon commissioned by Mike Rowe was sold at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction on Saturday night for $1.5 million.
The truck was built by Ohio’s SugarCreek custom shop, which chopped the cab, gave it suicide-style doors, dropped it onto a 2008 Ram chassis added a flat bed with work boxes and a steel front bumper equipped with a winch.
It’s powered by a 1,000 hp Mopar Hellephant supercharged V8 crate motor and rides on 18-inch Black Rhino wheels with 37-inch tires that are driven by solid axles attached to a Carli Dominator suspension with 3.0-inch King shocks.

The work took more than a year and more than 10,000 hours to complete, but it paid off handsomely. Just not for Rowe. The Ram was offered as a charity lot to raise money for the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, which supports skilled trades training and education.
The bidding opened at $50,000 and it only took about a minute to reach the winning figure of $1.5 million.

“Holy crap, thank you so much,” Rowe said after the sale. “I don’t know who did that, but just good God, man, I promise you, every penny, work ethic scholarships, we’re going to train the next generation. I promise you we won’t let you down.”
