Launching the Cadillac Escalade IQ looks like it was a smart move.

The electric SUV has been a literally big hit for the brand since it went on sale late last year.

General Motors announced during its 2024 earnings call that it has already delivered 1,500 Escalade IQs.

The number at the end of 2024 was 670, so at least 830 have been sold so far in January.

The Escalade IQ has a starting price of $129,990, while a fully decked out model goes for $157,515. That likely means Cadillac has already shipped more than $200 million-worth of the vehicles.

Cadillac says the thee-row, seven-passenger SUV can go 460 miles between charges. Its dual-motor powertrain is nominally rated at 680 hp and 615 lb-ft of torque, but a Velocity Max mode boosts that to 750 hp and 785 lb-ft. With Velocity Max engaged, the Escalade IQ can accelerate to 60 mph in less than five seconds. It can tow up to 8,000 pounds, which is not far from what it weighs.

The Escalade IQ isn’t the only strong-selling EV in the brand’s lineup. Cadillac delivered 28,402 five-passenger Lyriqs last year, which made it the second-best seller behind the internal combustion engine-powered Escalade at 41,001.

The Escalade IQ and Lyriq will be joined by two more electric SUVs this year when the entry-level Optiq and midsize three-row Vistiq debut. Cadillac also offers the $340,000 Celestiq ultra luxury four-door liftback, but has not confirmed how many, if any, it has delivered to customers.
