This custom van is no crime!

An Illinois Volkswagen dealership has transformed the retro Volkswagen ID. Buzz into a tribute to a classic cartoon.

Napleton’s Auto Park of Urbana has had an electric ID. Buzz wrapped to look like the The Mystery Machine from “The Scooby-Doo Show.”

The store’s General Manager, Alex Brixie, told American Cars And Racing he’s a big fan of the show and thought the ID. Buzz would look great with the iconic design.

The vehicle under the wrap is an ID. Buzz Pro S, which has a base price of $61,545. It’s white with a brown interior and a rear-wheel drivetrain, which is rated at 282 hp and 234 miles of range between charges. The seven-passenger seating layout would easily fit the gang from the show and plenty of Scooby Snacks. Real world families will appreciate its roomy interior, which is great for kids, meddling or otherwise.

The German-made ID. Buzz was recently named North American Utility Vehicle of the Year and is a finalist for World Electric Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year.

The precise van model the cartoon version of the Mystery Machine was based on has never been confirmed, but it looks more like a cabover American van than the VW Microbus that the ID. Buzz was inspired by. However, we think the ID. Buzz’s throwback shape works well with the wrap.

Napleton’s has listed the van for $76,295 and it was still available at the time this story was published.
