Hopefully You Like Your Ford Mustang GTD, Because You’re Stuck With It For 2 Years
And you thought your lease terms were strict!
Anyone who purchases a Ford Mustang GTD will be contractually required to keep it for at least two years in an effort to keep buyers of the $325,000 super ‘stang from flipping it.
The automaker put a similar restriction on purchases of the 2017-2023 Ford GT, which led to several legal disputes with owners who tried to sell them early, including WWE star John Cena.
The hope is that only truly interested fans will buy the cars and actually drive them, although it didn’t always work out that way with the $450,000 Ford GT. Many still trade hands at auctions today with double-digit and even single-digit mileage on their odometers.

Ford received over 7,500 applications to be approved to reserve a Mustang GTD, which included a number of requirements beyond the financial ability to afford one that included past Ford ownership and social media status.
An exact date for the start of deliveries hasn’t been announced, but the car is scheduled to begin shipping this year. It’s a cross-border project that starts with a body-in-why Mustang built at the model’s factory in Flat Rock, Mich., which is shipped to Multimatic in Canada.
