Dodge is lowering the entry level prices on several SUV models as it repositions its lineup to be more competitive.

The V6-powered Durango GT now starts at $38,495 (not including the $1,595 destination fee), which is down from $41,995.

Bigger cuts come to the V8-powered models with the 360 hp Durango R/T reduced from $54,890 to $49,995 and the 710 hp supercharged Durango SRT Hellcat’s price chopped by $11,000 from $95,995 to $84,995.

The compact Dodge Hornet GT’s starting price has also been reduced from $31,400 to $29,995. The Hornet GT has a 268 hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and comes standard with all-wheel drive.

The American Stellantis brands, including Jeep, Ram and Chrysler, have been shuffling their pricing strategies in recent weeks amid a sales slump.

Dodge is also in the middle of reinvigorating a lineup that is currently limited to the Durango, which has been on sale in this generation since 2011, the Hornet and the all-electric Charger Daytona two-door.

Dodge will be adding the internal combustion engine Charger Sixpack later this year along with four-door models of it and the Charger Daytona, but the brand has not yet confirmed when a new Durango or any other models are expected to arrive.
