Swinging 1965 Ford Mustang Zebra From Frank Sinatra Movie Up For Auction

You won’t be taking this pony car through a car wash.
A 1965 Ford Mustang customized by George Barris for the Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin comedy “Marriage on the Rocks” is on the auction block.
The car is the swinging sixties incarnate and features fuzzy zebra fur on its exterior. Barris redesigned the car with a permanently open targa style roof and rear roof buttresses along with a nosecone extension over the grille and headlights.
The interior features a portable Singer television built into the dashboard and a cocktail bar between the rear seats. It’s powered by the Mustang’s stock 289 V8 and equipped with an automatic transmission.

The car features Barris’ logo painted in front of the driver’s side front wheel as a mark of authenticity.

Sinatra’s real-life daughter Nancy played his daughter in the film and the car belonged to her character’s boyfriend.

It was added to the Petersen Museum collection in Los Angeles in 2001 and is being being sold for the first time since through Propstore auctions, which specializes in movie memorabilia.
