Kyle Larson’s Indy 500/Coca-Cola 600 Double Cars Revealed

Hendrick Motorsports has revealed the paint schemes that Kyle Larson’s cars will wear when he makes his second attempt at completing the Indy 500/Coca-Cola 600 double this May.
Larson completed the Indy 500 last year, finishing 18th after being hit with a pit lane speeding penalty, but was thwarted by a rain delay and failed to make it to Charlotte in time to compete in the Coca-Cola 600. NASCAR gave him a one-time playoff waiver for missing the race, but won’t be as generous this year.
Larson has confirmed that if the Indy 500 is delayed this year, he’ll leave before it starts or mid-race to get to Charlotte to avoid being disqualified from NASCAR Playoffs eligibility, which requires full-time drivers to compete in every race. Tony Kanan is slated to take over Larson’s Arrow McLaren IndyCar if he has to leave.
Both cars feature sponsorship from HendrickCars.com and are primarily blue and white with a splash of McLaren’s iconic Papaya Orange added. Prime is also a sponsor on the IndyCar in conjunction with a documentary being produced on the attempt for Prime Video.

“Completing 1,100 miles is the ultimate goal.” Larson said during the cars reveal. “Obviously I want to run well in both of them, I think there’s a legitimate shot to win the Cup race that weekend, we’re always good at mile-and-a-halves.”

Larson thinks he could’ve finished as high as fourth at last year’s Indy 500 if not for the penalty. “I felt like the race was pretty straightforward, I didn’t think it was too different than a Cup race, especially at Indy,” he said.
