The New Jeep Convoy Deserves A Salute

It’s a Gladiator that looks prepared for duty.
The Jeep Convoy Concept built to show off at the annual Easter Jeep Safari event in Utah is a Gladiator pickup customized with a military-inspired retro design.
Starting with a Gladiator Mojave high performance off-road model, Jeep redesigned the front end with a grille and hood inspired by the brand’s classic J-Series trucks.
To that, it added canvas half-doors doors and a canvas roof that extends over the bed.

High clearance fender flares make way for 17-inch Warn wheels shod in 40-inch BFG Krawler tires, while the steel front bumper incorporates a 12,000-pound Warn Zeon winch.

The standard 3.6-liter V6 engine breathes through a snorkel air intake and the interior is trimmed with distressed leather upholstery on the seats and Mil Spec O.D. Green floor liners and interior panels.

Jeep has no plans to put the Convoy into production, but does use the Easter Jeep Safari to get market feedback on new ideas, some of which eventually show up in its parts catalog or on future models. In fact, among the other vehicles at this year’s event is the Wrangler 4xe Blueprint Concept, which is a literally parts catalog on wheels.

It’s equipped with more than 20 accessories that are available from Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts, each of which is painted blue and has a QR code linked to its page in the catalog. Jeep even outfitted it asymmetrically to show off as many parts as possible.
The Easter Jeep Safari runs from April 12th to April 20th in Moab this year.
