Tesla has officially launched a rear-wheel-drive Cybertruck in the U.S., but it’s not exactly the one it promised when deliveries of the electric pickup began in late 2023.

Back then, Tesla was taking orders for a Rear-Wheel Drive Cybertruck advertised with 250 miles of range and a starting price of $60,990.

The Long Range lists for $69,990, or $72,235 when destination and ordering fees are included, but you get more for the money. It has an estimated range of 350 miles per charge, but does without a few features found on the other Cybertruck models to keep the price down.

It rides on an adaptive coil spring suspension instead of using air springs, doesn’t have a powered tonneau cover for the bed and is upholstered with cloth instead of synthetic leather. It also loses the rear seat entertainment screen that other models get and its audio system has just seven speakers instead of 15.

The Long Range can accelerate to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, tow up to 7,500 pounds and has a cargo capacity of 2,000 pounds, according to Tesla. Tesla says that adding a $750 soft tonneau cover for the bed adds 12 miles of range.

Eighteen inch wheels with all-terrain tires are standard, while a $3,500 set of 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires reduces the estimated driving range to 331 miles without the tonneau cover. As with all Tesla models that don’t include it, the Full Self-Driving feature is an $8,000 option.
