GM Recalling Nearly 600,000 Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMCTrucks Due To Possible Engine Failure

General Motors has issued a recall for 597,630 full-size trucks due to a manufacturing issue that could lead to engine failure.
The problem stems from an issue with the connecting rod and/or crankshaft in the 6.2-liter V8.
The recall covers the 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESVs; Chevrolet Silverado 1500s, Suburbans and Tahoes; GMC Sierra 1500s, Yukons and Yukon XLs models with the engine. A total of 32 different configurations and trims are involved.
The vehicles were all built between March 1, 2021 and May 31, 2024. An investigation into 28,102 complaints discovered 12 crashes and 42 engine fires that were potentially linked to the problem.
The suspect parts will be replaced with new ones that are free of the defect and engines will be fully replaced if necessary.
