Alex Palou Made It Look Way Too Easy In Alabama IndyCar Win

Alex Palou needs a friend to race with.
The defending IndyCar champion cruised to a ridiculously easy victory at the IndyCar Alabama Grand Prix with second-place Christian Lundgaard 16 seconds behind him.
“It was a perfect day, a perfect weekend,” Palou said. “The car was amazing, super fast. I had a ton of fun,” Palou said after the race. “I was a bit lonely there, but I loved it. It was an amazing day.”
Palou started on pole and led 81 of 90 laps, only dropping from the front during pit stop cycles. He went largely unchallenged all day and finished the race with 63 of the allotted 200 seconds worth of push-to-pass left.

It was his third win in four races this year, the only blemish being a second place finish at Long Beach.
Scott McLaughlin finished third another seven seconds behind Lundgaard.
Palou now holds a commanding lead in the season standings with 196 points, followed by Lundgaard at 136 and Kyle Kirkwood at 127.
