Kyle Larson Scores Dominant NASCAR Cup Series Win At Kansas Speedway

Kyle Larson finished the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway right where he started it, and where he finished last year’s race.
Pole-sitter Larson led 221 of 267 laps to win his second-straight Kansas spring race and pick up his third victory of the season as NASCAR heads into the All-Star break and he heads to Indianapolis for the Indy 500.
Last year’s Kansas race saw the closest finish in NASCAR Cup Series history with Larson crossing the line just .001 secs ahead of Chris Buescher, but the record wasn’t in much danger this year.
Larson won the first two stages and had a solid lead in the closing laps, but slowed on the last one fearing one of his tires might blow.

“I was trying really hard to pace myself, because I believe that was our longest run of the day,” Larson said. “I’d been struggling a little bit at the end of the runs.”
“I don’t know if it was paying off or not at the end. I was still struggling. I don’t know if the right front was starting to wear a lot or what, but I was starting to lose a lot of grip, and then I was vibrating really bad, so I was afraid a right rear or something would let go.”

In the end, he beat Christopher Bell by .712 seconds and Ryan Blaney by .832 seconds while Chase Briscoe came home fourth nearly six seconds in arrears.
Larson will make a quick stop at Kokomo Speedway in Indiana on Monday night to compete in his High Limit Racing dirt sprint car series before going to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the start of Indy 500 practice on Tuesday.
