Tesla Model Y Price Slashed To $46,630 With New Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive Model

Tesla’s long-promised new entry-level model remains elusive, but the brand continues introducing lower-priced versions of its current lineup.
Following the launch of a $72,235 Cybertruck Long Range trim in April, Tesla has started taking orders for a Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive version of the updated Model Y priced at $46,630.
That’s $4,000 less than the Long Range All-Wheel Drive and just $2,500 more than the Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive sedan.
The new Model Y is rated at 357 miles of range between charges and can accelerate to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. Aside from color choices, the only options are a $2,000 20-inch wheel and tire package that drops the range to 344 miles, a $1,000 tow hitch to take advantage of the vehicle’s 3,500-pound tow rating and the $8,000 Full Self-Driving semi-autonomous electronic driver aid system.

Model Y sales have been slumping this year amid protests against Tesla CEO Elon Musk and the production changeover to an updated vehicle, but it remained the best-selling electric vehicle in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2025.
